Review – Elías Sternin – Virtual Analog EP (Real Interactions)

If you’re not aware of his productions, I’d recommend that you check out Elías Sternin, who makes some of the most awesome, beautifully crafted bangers I’ve heard in recent times. Since this release, he’s had EPs out on Mephis and Trommel, which I actually found before I checked out his Virtual Analog EP, released back in December 2022 on the Leeds-based Real Interactions (great label, check out all their releases).

Elías Sternin - Virtual Analog EP - Real Interactions

The tracks here manage to combine a haunting dystopia with some serious groove. You couldn’t possibly not dance to these, but also they could form a soundtrack to the cinematic recreation of  a Philip K Dick novel. Groovy doom is a thing, and it’s great.

This is also one for the vinyl purists, if you care about that kind of thing. There is a digital version available… for £1000. Thankfully, there are still brand new copies of this available to buy, pressed onto a nice slab of wax, at Plant & Deck.
