Interview Feature – Callum Till – Wrong’Uns

Ahead of tonight’s party at Imaginarium, we caught up with Wrong’Uns co-founder Callum Till…

Wrong'Uns 002 EP

Imaginarium: Tell us about your party this Friday at Imaginarium…

Callum: So for our last party of the year we welcome one of the best disk rubbers and all round bad man DJ Perception to tear up the intimate space of Imaginarium’s space and stretch the legs of the Martin audio sound system, after his killer set at dimensions we can not wait to see what damage he is going to do this Friday!

Fri, 6 Dec Wrong'uns presents: DJ Perception ̸ DJ Perception, Mehlor Leeds The Imaginarium

Imaginarium: How did Wrong’Uns come about?

Callum: Chris [Mehlor] approached me around April 2023 with a few tracks he had gathered off producers and asked me if we should start a label up together, straight away after hearing the tracks JoeJoeMojo, Oward, Rewi De Kooney and a Mehlor track it was a instant yes from me!

Next up was the hard part, Picking a name for the project and after a few brain storming sessions we landed on the most fitting name. WRONG’UNS.

Now 1 vinyl releases, A Bandcamp release, 3 partys a bunch of merch and a handful of content we are gearing up for our last vinyl release and party of the year on the 6th Dec we can’t wait to see what 2025 has in store!

Imaginarium: The second Wrong’Uns EP has just landed. Tell us a bit about this release…

Callum: This one is straight for the head top!

Proper protect ya neck tackle.

Kicking the job off with Just Olly’s Tougher with its catchy vocals and bass rattling b-line what more could you want for a A1 set for sonically demolition.

Following on from that is Wrong’un himself Mehlor delivering up that groovy slice of wobbly goodness that had been testing the system on the festival circuit prior to its release.

Next up young gun Jake Rollinson cuts the rug with this naughty jungly inspired filth with a sub section that would wake a dead body.

Closing off the E.P we welcome back the bad man wizard that is JoeJoeMojo who once again had smashed it out the park with the late night gritty scanker that will test any foundation of any club, basement or kitchen.

Imaginarium: Your artwork and merch is second to none. How important do you think this side of things is?

Callum: Thank you, we are buzzing with how the ideas for the artwork have came to life due to the very talented Prith who does all our sketches for releases and event artwork!

I think our style of artwork set us apart from the very saturated industry so it’s very import part of our brand for sure!

How do you feel things are going for the Leeds scene at the moment?

Straight and simply terribly in all honestly with losing wire what one a massive staple of clubbing in the uk for years things have started to spiral.

But on the same flip of the coin brands like ruckus and the testbed movement are really showing a new side to clubbing in Leeds from massive open spaces to small quirky gritty intimate spaces that have been under all our noses unseen for some time.

And of course how can I not mention Imaginarium a place we call home.

Ever since the first time I walked inside the space I fell in love and they couldn’t get me out the place, ever since then I’ve been lucky enough to be welcomed in as part of the team with open arms and it’s been a massive fresh of breath air both for my creativity but also for the whole of the Leeds nightlife and uk clubbing scene.

After having a sneak preview into what’s in store for both plant and deck and imaginarium for 2025 I’m really excited to enter the new year and share with you all what’s to come.

Imaginarium: Any future plans you’d like to tell us about?

Callum: More parties, more merch, and hell of a lot more music!

We are already starting to wrap up 003 and preparing to get the next run of merch out with some super sick and fresh designs so keep your eyes peeled and more importantly… STAY WRONG!

Tickets for tonight’s party are still available on Resident Advisor and the second EP is available to buy in Plant & Deck.
